Deze mix moet je echt goed en met aandacht luisteren. Zulke mixs kom je niet vaak tegen, het is niet echt House, wel ver in de richting van Deep House en hele diepe Lounge, maar dan anders. De geluidskwaliteit, onconventionele atonale diepe bassen en de opnamekwaliteit van bepaalde instrumenten, vooral die zware saxofoon waar je bijna de ademhaling hoort van de saxofonist, zeer fragiel en diep. Wie KYBELE precies is ben ik niet helemaal achter, maar ik vermoed dat het een vrouwelijk zangeres en muzikant uit het Midden-Oosten is, denk ik.

Archaeological evidence from prehistoric times suggests that the Earth was once viewed as a living, female being. Ancient texts and mythologies support the idea of a female deity associated with the earth and all life. The Phyrigian Earth Mother Kybele was one such figure among many and represented the earth, mountains, caverns, and all nature, the birth of humanity, the universe and everything in it.

Inspired by this timeless and universal vision, this project is dedicated to featuring and celebrating the bounty and beauty of the creative works of women in music through special podcasts, mixtapes, and playlists curated by women producers, DJs, and musicians of a wide range of genres from around the world.
